Story
Lazy Dodo hails from Pamplemousses, a district in the northwest of Mauritius known for its lush botanical gardens and deep-rooted sugarcane heritage. Since 1770, when the Isle de France (as Mauritius was once called) began cultivating sugarcane, the Harel brothers—Victor, Charles, and Eugene—established one of the island’s most iconic plantations.
The name “Lazy Dodo” honors the extinct dodo bird, native to Mauritius. Unable to escape the arrival of settlers, the dodo became a symbol of peaceful stillness—and ultimately, of disappearance. This rum celebrates its legacy with a spirit that’s rare, relaxed, and unforgettable.
