Zrála v kombinaci sudů po bourbonu a francouzském víně, které přinášejí hloubku, jemnost a komplexní vrstvení chutí.

Chut'ový profil

Vůně: Slaný mořský vánek a čisté lněné plátno. Následuje jablečné pyré, citronová kůra, křupavá hruška a typická stopa zeleného ovoce. Aroma krásně odhaluje charakter destilátu i samotného ječmene.

Chuť: Jemný, sladký nástup s lehkým medovým dotekem. Postupně se rozvíjí tóny mléčné čokolády, vanilky, černého pepře a lehkého cedru. Teplé sušenky, med a zemitý kouř se prolínají s meruňkou a krémovou, lehce mátovou sladkostí. Nechybí ani jemná slaná stopa připomínající písek z Islay.

Závěr: Kokos, rašelinový kouř, lehká jódová nota, mandlové a pelargoniové nuance. Kouř se pomalu a elegantně vytrácí.

Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2013 is a heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky distilled at Bruichladdich Distillery. Crafted from barley harvested on seven Islay farms, it captures the true essence of the island. Matured in a combination of bourbon and French wine casks, it offers depth, balance, and beautifully layered complexity.

Tasting Notes

Nose: A sandy sea breeze and fresh linen open the aroma. Apple sauce, zesty lemon, crisp pear, and a signature green-fruit note follow, highlighting the purity of the spirit and the character of the barley.

Palate: Sweet and soft on the lips with a light honey touch. The cask influence emerges with milk chocolate, vanilla, black pepper, and gentle cedar. Warm scones, honeyed malt, earthy smoke, soft apricot, and a creamy, minty sweetness create a rich interplay. A warm hint of salty sand evokes the shores of Islay.

Finish: Coconut and peat smoke with mild iodine, almond, and geranium notes. The peat smoke fades slowly and gracefully.
